Abstract
RAMCHARITMANAS KE BALKAND ME GURU-SHISHYA SAMBANDH
Dr. Surendra Mahto
Volume: 2 Issue: 3 2012
Abstract:
Ramcharitmanas is the foremost among the Bhakti period compositions, where the needs of Indian society are reflected. There are many works on this epic from the literary point of view. But from the educational point of view, their number is negligible. There are eight kandas in this epic, in which the first Balkanda holds its own importance. After deep study, scholars, while explaining Talasoda's Guru-disciple based thoughts contained in this kanda, according to their own understanding, have observed that the love of a Guru for his disciple is greater than that of a parent. There, the disciple's devotion to his Guru is greater than his own love. This cannot happen where; The Guru always gives instructions to the disciple for worldly and spiritual welfare, that disciple, starting from worshipping the feet of the Guru and remaining alert till going to sleep, follows all kinds of instructions considering it his duty.
