Abstract:
Women's empowerment is equipping women with the information, skills, and autonomy necessary to make independent life choices and engage fully in society. The initiative entails tackling social, economic, and political disparities by implementing strategies such as advancing education, guaranteeing equitable compensation and opportunity, and empowering women in decision-making processes at all tiers. Women’s empowerment and inclusive development involve facilitating women's equal access to resources, decision-making authority, and opportunities, while ensuring that all societal groups are included in and benefit from development initiatives. It entails advocating for women's economic, social, and political equality to confront systemic obstacles and establish a society in which all individuals may prosper. As an important part of women's empowerment and inclusive development, this research looks at India's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) project. Initiated with the goal of eradicating gender inequality and prejudice, the program's two themes—"Save the Girl Child" and "Educate the Girl Child"—strike a balance between educating girls and preventing female foeticide. Efforts in community participation, policy enforcement, and resource allocation are vital for the program's long-term success in creating a more equal society, according to the abstract, which highlights the program's role in raising awareness and enhancing welfare services for girls. The initiative was launched in 2015 by the Indian government to address the declining child sex ratio and discrimination against girls.
