Abstract:
The new poetic style that took shape in Hindi poetry from the third decade of the twentieth century is known as 'Chhayavad'. This poetry originated between the two world wars, but this does not mean that this current of poetry suddenly emerged and disappeared after 1938. This current was flowing before 1918 and continued to flow after 1938. The Chhayavadi poetic tradition primarily developed between 1918 and 1938. Scholars have expressed their views on the term 'Chhayavad'. To clarify the nature of Chhayavad the discussion can be divided into two categories: critics of Chhayavad and poets of Chhayavad, who have presented their perspectives on this subject.
